Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCO) use either a dielectric resonator, a strip-line or LC components to control the frequency.

Most often used in PLL circuits to generate high frequency reference signals in fundamental mode VCO are available to around 6GHz.

Applications include GSM, GPS, DAB and WLAN.

Both wide band and narrow bans versions are available. Narrow band versions are available in packages as small as 4.5x3.2mm while wide band versions are supplied in industry standard 13x13mm and 20x11mm cases.
